Offers Latest IP Technology to Manage Video Storage and Networking Performance Simultaneously to Members of the Security Industry Association

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Intransa, the global innovator of network-centric IP storage solutions, has joined the Security Industry Association (SIA). SIA is a non-profit international trade association that represents electronic and physical security product manufacturers, specifiers, and service providers.

“As an organization, SIA is pleased to welcome Intransa as a new member,” said Richard Chace, CEO/executive director of the association. “Intransa develops IP storage which is a technology critical in the expanding security convergence and video surveillance markets. Clearly, a company such as Intransa, whose technology offers the ability to scale both performance and storage capability simultaneously and cost effectively, is positioned to do well in this dynamic marketplace. We look forward to working with them and leveraging their IP and storage expertise within various SIA committees.”

Intransa’s interest in SIA and the member companies it serves is clear. “Since the 1960’s when video surveillance first appeared, the technical iterations from VCR tape to DVR and later NVR platforms have advanced forward,” stated Bud Broomhead, CEO of Intransa. “The current convergence of video surveillance solutions and IT infrastructures has accelerated both data storage requirements and the development of new digital security application functionality. As we have witnessed in the storage industry, new innovation is required to cost-effectively manage and distribute growing volumes of data, voice and video images across corporate networks and the web.”

A flexible and scalable IP based server platform is the next generation of cost effective storage technology, and is tailor-made for current and future video surveillance applications.

Dan Dunkel, president, New Era Associates, LLC commented, “Intransa’s IP storage architecture provides an innovative platform for video surveillance and security application storage. They bring a wealth of both IP networking and storage experience to the physical security industry.” Dunkel continued, “Intransa will make an excellent partner for leading edge integrators and solution providers that realize the future of security convergence involves a working knowledge of IP and scalable storage architectures. Positioning storage solutions across IT infrastructure is second nature to Intransa.”

Broomhead, as well as vice president of sales George Vaiser, vice president of marketing Jeff Whitney, and several other key team members will be attending SIA’s ISC West 2007, to be held at the Sands Expo and Convention Center, Las Vegas, from Wednesday, March 28 through Friday, March 30th. Intransa will meet with potential business partners and customers throughout the event, and has set up a special hotline for appointments.
