TEL AVIV, Israel, October 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Domain The Net, an ICANN accredited registrar and an accredited registrar of the European Union, has launched the pre-registration of .eu domain names.
Registration of .eu domain names is intended for companies and organizations with a presence in one of the EU countries, or for residents of these countries.

Through its website, http://www.domainthenet.com/eu_domain.asp , Domain The Net offers exclusive services to companies without an EU presence. This service is provided in collaboration with a British company, which registers the domains in its own name and serves as the registrant of the domain names. The British company then leases the use of the domains to the interested companies.
Domain The Net launched the .eu pre-registration in Israel (where the company's headquarters are located), in the presence of the head of the European Commission's delegation in Israel, Ambassador Ramiro Cibrian-Uzal.
According to Ambassador Cibrian-Uzal, "The launch of .eu is the end of a process led by the European Union, and which one of its aims is to help companies from all over the world to better integrate their activities in EU countries."
